ABOUT US – HISTORY OF THE MINISTRY

Beauty for Ashes Ministries International is a Christ-centered ministry birthed on March 10, 2003, after being in ministry as Beauty for Ashes for ten years. The ministry to the nations is a vision given to us by God over twelve years ago as He said to take this healing to the multitudes suffering the after-effects of abortion and abuse around the world. Statistics say one out of every three women has had one or more abortions in America. In some other nations the average number of abortions during a woman’s child bearing years is fifteen!

Soon America’s statistics will be similar as women use abortion as a means of birth control.

BFAMI is a non-profit ministry to men and women who had one or more abortions in their lifetime and bear the guilt, shame, and pain of that choice, as well as to those who have broken hearts from sexual abuse and other issues of heartbreak, not related to abortion. This healing is ending the repeat-abortion rate in men and women. Healing the hearts of those who have experienced abortion breaks the cycle of abortion, helping prevent it in future generations.

The Transformed by Grace Encounter was added to the ministry of BFAMI in the spring of 2011 to expand the ministry to multiple issues of emotional trauma.

We also minister a ten-week Bible Study and a two-night Retreat with a Memorial following for women and a ten-week Bible Study, one-day Retreat and Memorial for men for post-abortion recovery.  God sent His Word to heal us and the amazing restoration during this time is healing hearts, restoring marriages, healing families, and strengthening churches. We believe we will soon see America and the nations strong in righteousness again when the family is healed from the shame and guilt of abortion.

Ray and Lana Sanders are the Founders and Directors of Beauty for Ashes Ministries International and they know the pain and shame of abortion themselves, as well as devastation from many other emotional issues. They have experienced the amazing Grace of God and it is their heart’s passion to see others emotionally restored.   God has healed both of them through a similar Bible study. They have three grown sons, ten grandchildren, and four babies in heaven. They know what it is to have the ashes of their
lives changed to beauty by God so they can give this healing away to multitudes of other people suffering as they did. BFAMI has seen hundreds restored to the life God had planned for them from the beginning. The BFAMI foundation Scripture is Isaiah 61, and the heart of God is building this ministry on His Word.
