Breaking the Cycle of Abortion

Since abortion was legalized in America in 1973, it is estimated that over 59 million abortions have been performed, which ended the life of babies inside the wombs of American women. There is an untold number of babies who have died from abortion internationally. Only heaven knows the total number of babies that have returned to God before they had a chance to live on earth, but heaven knows every one!

I am one of the American women who chose abortion. I can speak not only from personal experience of suffering from the painful after-effects of abortion, but also from 19 years of facilitating post-abortion recovery to thousands of women.

It is difficult, if not impossible, for a woman to reveal the truth that she had one or more abortions to anyone unless her heart heals. Abortion becomes her deepest darkest secret. While this shame, guilt and pain is hidden, the cycle of abortion can go throughout her family and circle of friends.

Be it a son or daughter, family member, or friend who may face an unintended pregnancy, the option of abortion can be chosen due to the silence of the post-abortive man or woman, or from their recommendation for abortion. The later is often unconscious justification of their past decisions.

The good news is; once a man or woman has faced his or her own abortion and brought it to the Cross of Christ for forgiveness, then submitting their heart to the healing Word of God for restoration, the cycle of abortion in their realm of influence is broken!

Mothers and fathers, who have faced their own abortion pain and are healed, can be truthful with their family. When they are, their sons and daughters will choose sexual abstinence before marriage or choose life if they face an unintended pregnancy. Then the ripple effect is positive upon everyone that their victorious testimony may reach.

Though post-abortion recovery sounds like it only touches the man or woman who had an abortion, it is actually a frontline defense against future abortions. Help us end the Cycle of Abortion through restoring broken hearts.
